MANAGEMENT CONSULTATION
Corporate Services provides the organization:
- CONSULTATION in the development of related policies and
procedures regarding utilization of EAP services by employees;
intervention by managers and supervisors in assisting
employees with job performance issues; adherence to confidentiality
regulations.
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT with all phases of EAP implementation
including annual employee orientations, on-going support
with internal promotional activities and program evaluations.
- POLICY-BASED ADVICE to management, supervisors and - where
appropriate - union representatives regarding the management
of employees with job performance and other behavioral
health problems.
- ASSISTANCE to managers and supervisors in identifying
and addressing their own emotional reactions in order
to minimize the possibility that they will interfere
with an objective assessment of the employee's work performance.
- COORDINATION with other member services, e.g. medical,
legal, human resources, to ensure a continuum and comprehensive
service approach.
- ADVISEMENT AND SUPPORT when developments and events impact
employee well being, and are within the EAP's professional
area of expertise. We are proactive in working with organizations
to minimize the adverse impact of events such as a critical
or hostile incident, relocation, employee reassignment,
reductions in workforce, etc.
- ANNUAL ON-SITE TRAINING for management and supervisory
level staff in effective use of the EAP for dealing constructively
with employee performance and personal problems.
Goals and Objectives of this training are:
- To recognize employee performance and personnel
problems which could result in serious job
performance decline and are, therefore, appropriate
for referral to the EAP - with a special look
at Alcohol and Other Drugs at Work.
- To encourage supervisors and managers to refer
an employee with a job performance problem(s)
to the EAP.
- To illustrate how to conduct such a referral.
- To address the common barriers that prevent
a supervisor or manager from referring an employee
to the EAP.
- CRITICAL INCIDENT RESPONSE: By virtue of the diverse workforces
to whom we provide services, we are experienced in assisting
in the resolution of a broad range of problems. Our contracts
have included municipalities (covering law enforcement
personnel), medical facilities, financial institutions,
human service agencies, school districts, manufacturing
plants, and small businesses. Our contract organizations
have utilized our services to assist employees following
serious accidents, bank robberies, employee death and
significant organizational upheaval.
